"I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO STRENGTHENS ME." ~ Phil. 4:13
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving: to reach the port of heaven we must sail with the wind and sometimes against it, but we must sail, and not drift nor lie at anchor.”
-- Oliver Wendell Holmes

This is My Journey ...

I lost my husband and eternal soul mate, Dennis Peacock, to Pancreatic Cancer in February, 2005. This was an unexpected trial that broke my heart, but with the help of Heavenly Father and my loving family and friends, I am carrying on. Together, Dennis and I have 7 children and 6 (soon to be 7) grandchildren. I still miss Dennis every day, but am grateful for our "forever family" and know that I will be reunited with him again someday. I am now remarried to a wonderful man, Darwin Cottle. He also lost his wife to cancer and we met in a bereavement group. He has 8 children and 36 grandchildren, so our combined family is wild and crazy -- but we are very blessed to have so many people to love. I have a great job as City Recorder for the City of Taylorsville. Darwin is retired, but likes to say that he works for me (lots of "honey dos.") He is also a temple worker and serves in the bishopric of a young single adult ward. We recently built a new home in South Jordan (Daybreak) near the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and we are really enjoying it there. We also have two sweet little dogs, Taji and Teja, that we like to spoil. I LOVE being a Grandma and spending time with my family!

"DUCT TAPE MAN"

I don't know how I got so lucky to find two such wonderful men to love me! I know I'm very blessed to have my sweet Dennis on the other side of the veil waiting for me, but I'm also very fortunate to have Darwin here in my life as I continue my journey on earth. He is SO good to me! After Dennis died, I didn't think I could go on. Darwin saved me and has taught me to smile again. I told him once that he was like the scotch tape that holds my broken heart together. He said, if he had to be tape, he'd really rather be known as duct tape, because it's more manly... so, now he's known as my "Duct Tape Man." I know that Heavenly Father and Dennis sent Darwin to our family to help us heal and to care for us. He is a wonderful companion and is so kind to my kids and grandkids. They have truly grown to love him. He is a wonderful patriarch to his own 8 children, his 36 grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren (that's right he also has 4, soon-to-be 5, "great-grand's!!!"). Darwin works hard to help me honor Dennis' memory and to carry on his legacy, and we do the same for his eternal companion, Gwen. Darwin is the most sunny, positive person I have ever known. He always sees the good in others and never has a bad day. He is an awesome husband, companion, father, grandfather, step-father, son-in-law, brother, and friend. Darwin constantly looks for ways in which to serve others. He is such a good example to me. I love you, Sweetie!

Fun with the Grandkids

I've been enjoying my grandkids this summer. They are all growing SO fast I can't believe it! Sure is fun being a Grandma!

SAN FRANCISCO TRIP

I spent most of June and July recovering from a broken bone (sacrum) in my lower back, so we had to put some of our summer plans on hold. I'm feeling much better now, though, and Darwin and Nikki and I were able to take a fun trip to San Francisco this last week. We went to see "Wicked," which I loved, and walked the Golden Gate Bridge. We also ate some yummy seafood at Fisherman's Wharf and did some extensive shopping. Had such a great time! Already looking forward to the next vacation.

MEMORIAL DAY!

We were able to spend Memorial Day with some of my grandkids and my nephew and enjoyed a trip to the zoo and the Living Planet Aquarium. It was a lot of fun! We also made a visit beforehand to the graves of Grandpa Dennis, Great Grandpa Vern and Uncle Mike. The kids decided to share some of Dennis' roses with those graves around that didn't have any flowers on them. It was very sweet, and I know that Dennis would like that they were so very thoughtful. They are definitely carrying on his legacy of kindness. We love and miss you, Dennis!

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful time on Mother's Day! We got to go hear my Dad speak in his sacrament meeting. He did an awesome job! My brother, Ryan, and his wife, Teri, were here from Colorado for my nephew's wedding, so it was great to spend the weekend with them and other family members. It was extra special to be in the Salt Lake Temple and witness Jeff and Ashton's sealing on Saturday alongside my parents, all my siblings, my daughter, and other loved ones. After church on Mother's Day, the extended Jensen Family gathered at our house for lunch. It was a great time! I was especially thrilled to have my beautiful mother there. Despite her trials and challenges, she remains a loving mother and devoted grandmother. We all love her so, and it was wonderful to be together as a family to honor her. How fortunate I am to have been born to goodly parents and to still have them near. It was also fun to have my children and my five grandchildren there! What a special day. I love my family and feel so blessed! We missed those members who weren't with us, but felt their love. Thanks to Darwin and my boys for all their hard work in our yard so that we could be ready for our special Mother's Day gathering. Thanks, also, to my Sweetie for planting all my beautiful flowers. I love them! Here are some fun family group pictures in our front yard.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DARWIN!

"Happy Anniversary, Darwin! Thanks for all your love and support and for blessing my life everyday over the past three years. You are such a good example to me, and I will always be grateful to you for the love, tenderness, and kindness that you continually show to me, my children, my grandchildren, my parents, and everyone else in our lives. You took on a HUGE load when you married me, but you are always cheerful and never complain. I am truly overwhelmed by your goodness!! Thanks, also, for sharing your own grandkids with me and for letting me be a part of your wonderful family, too. Our life is a little chaotic sometimes, but I know we are very blessed! Thank you, Sweetie, for helping my heart to heal and for teaching me to smile again as we enjoy life's journey. I love you!"

Corey & Heather's Wedding Day

INTRODUCING ... MR. & MRS. COREY PREECE!

UNCLE COREY

Gage, Masen and Marshal with their Uncle Corey on his wedding day!

GREAT "FAMILY" DAY

Monday was such a good day and we are all very happy for Corey and Heather! It was SO fun to spend time with family and friends. Thanks to everyone for your love and support and for your efforts to be there. Some of you travelled long distances and it meant so much to us that you were able to come. It was also Dennis and my anniversary that day (March 30th). We were married 19 years ago. I know that Dennis was there in spirit on this special occasion and how very happy he must be for Corey. I know he's SO proud of all of his children and grandchildren for the choices they are making. It's very tender to me that Corey and Heather happened to choose that date to be married and that we now share an anniversary! ... Just another sign that Dennis is watching over all of us from heaven. I also want to tell Darwin how grateful I am to him for all his love and support and for being such a good companion to me. He is my rock! Thanks, Sweetie!
WELCOME TO OUR CRAZY FAMILY, HEATHER!!
WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!
